Karl Friedrichs joins Leonard Injury Firm with over 25 years of experience representing victims of personal injury.
He has successfully obtained jury verdicts and settlements on behalf of individuals harmed in nursing homes, medical facilities and occupational hazards at work.
He has assisted hundreds of individuals involved in motor vehicle crashes from the initial stages of a property damage claim through the long period of medical treatment and recovery from injuries. This passion led him to author a book titled New Jersey Motor Vehicle Law and Practice Forms, published by Thomson Reuters. This book provides a valuable resource to other attorneys who handle motor vehicle accident claims in what has become a complicated area of law in New Jersey due to a powerful insurance industry that attempts to delay or deny valid claims of economic and non-economic damages.
Karl has been recognized as a New Jersey Super Lawyer from 2017 to the present and as an SJ Magazine Top Attorney in 2012, 2017, and 2022.
When not working, Karl enjoys attending sporting events, live music, and spending time with his cherished family and friends.
Karl is certified as a Civil Trial Attorney by the New Jersey Supreme Court.
Prior to joining Leonard Injury Firm, Karl helped clients secure multimillion-dollar resolutions in a variety of notable cases, including:
- $2.7 million settlement for negligent security at an apartment complex leading to critical injuries of a young woman and the shooting death of her boyfriend. The case received significant media coverage after the shooter could not be identified.
- $1.65 million nursing home wrongful death claim for the death of a resident.
- $5 million award for the widow of a victim of the September 11 terror attacks.
- $1.25 million automobile accident wrongful death claim on behalf of the widow and children of a man killed by an impaired driver.
- $4 million medical malpractice claim involving a delayed diagnosis of a bowel perforation by radiologists, leading to sepsis and prolonged suffering before the death of a 51-year-old woman.
