Personal Injury Cases We Handle

Catastrophic Injury

A catastrophic injury is an injury that involves serious damage to the spine, spinal cord or brain. These injuries can include damage to the skull or spinal fractures. These are classified by three categories: fatality, permanent severe functional disability and severe head or neck trauma with no permanent disability.

Spinal Cord Injuries

Spinal cord injuries involve damage when displaced bone fragments, disc material, or ligaments bruise or tear into spinal cord tissue. Often times, these injuries are caused from a traumatic blow to the spine.

Child Injury

Children are one of the most vulnerable groups that get injured. Even before a child is born, he or she can be subject to injury during the mother’s pregnancy during an accident or by medical malpractice. Children that are injured during his or her life are not able to advocate for themselves and need a parent or guardian to advocate for them.

Traumatic Brain Injuries

Traumatic brain injuries are disruption in the normal function of the brain. These types of injuries are often caused by bumps, blows, or jolts to the head.

A concussion is a type of traumatic brain injury caused by a hit to the body that causes the head and brain to move rapidly back and forth. This sudden movement creates chemical changes in the brain and sometimes damaging brain cells. Effects of concussions can be extremely serious.

Burn injuries can happen in the workplace or in your personal life and can be extremely painful and taxing on the victim. The location and type of burn can impact the result of the case result.

Wrongful Death

A wrongful death claim is brought by the estate of the deceased person against someone who has caused someone’s death.

A fractured or “broken” bone can be caused by a number of kinds of accidents and can impact your life greatly.  The long-term effects of fractures and surgery may be greater than the initial injury.

Government entities have a certain amount of immunity from suits for negligence, commonly known as “sovereign immunity,” which refers to claims against the Federal government and the States.

The New Jersey Tort Claims Act applies to tort actions against public entities or their employees.  If you have been injured on p ublic property or by an employee of a government entity, this Claims Act might provide guidance to your case.

Claims for injuries that occur on government property or that are caused by a government employee require a unique legal process than other types of claims.
